When there are financial barriers for the proper disposal of depredated animals, we may assist community members with remains disposal. Assistance may be adjusted under certain conditions, at the discretion of the Cougar Conservancy.
To help prevent future conflicts with cougars, proper disposal of animal remains is essential. When financial barriers make disposal difficult, our program can provide financial assistance, though we do not handle disposal directly.
Important Note: Our resources are limited, so we prioritize applicants who affirm their need for assistance. While we strive to help as many individuals as possible, not all applicants may receive support.
In the photo, Korinna and the California Department of Fish and Wildlife investigate an alpaca’s death to determine if a cougar was responsible. Our Assistance Program aims to support community members in cases like this, relieving the challenges of safe remains disposal.
Thanks to the generous support of our donors and grant partners, we’re able to offer limited resources for our Carcass Disposal and Pen Building Assistance Program.
With your continued support, we can protect cougars and promote a future of peaceful coexistence. Thank you for making this work possible and for being a part of the movement to #CoexistWithCougars.
Consider donating to our Assistance Programs to help us expand these vital resources and make a direct impact in protecting both cougars and communities. Donate Here!
